Another nice sounding Italian film, this little production has been picking up awards and has just had a limited domestic release
Here’s a new Italian crime film, directed by Stefano Sollima (Sergio’s son, so he should have it in the genes!) Sollima jr was involved in the two succesful Romanzo criminale TV series and this is quite a hotly anticipated release
Giuliano Montaldo’s got a new film out now called L’industriale. It has opened in about 80 cinemas for an initial run of 7 weeks.

Not sure quite what to make of this one. The poster features a couple of beefcake actors, which makes it look incredibly homo-erotic, but it sounds more like an dramatic action movie
And another new one. Hypnosis, directed by Davide Tartarini and Simone Cerri Goldstein, is a thriller / horror film, has opened in just under 50 cinemas throughout Italy
5 (Cinque) is a new Italian crime film, which looks to have been highly influenced by Romanzo criminale.

A few years back, Andrea Molaioli, a director who had graduated from being assistant director to Nanni Moretti and others, made one of the best Italian films of recent time, La ragazza del lago
Ricky Tognazzi, of Ultra, L’escorta etc etc, has a new film that’s just come out in Italy. It’s a thriller of sorts, starring Alessandro Gassman and based on a novel by Giancarlo De Cataldo (Romanzo criminale)
Another one that passed me by last year, not sure why – this has a story and cast that means it’s of some interest.
