{"id":2266,"date":"2010-10-22T15:47:28","date_gmt":"2010-10-22T15:47:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thewildeye.co.uk\/blog\/?p=2266"},"modified":"2010-10-22T15:48:00","modified_gmt":"2010-10-22T15:48:00","slug":"the-wildeye-book","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.thewildeye.co.uk\/blog\/latest-news\/the-wildeye-book\/","title":{"rendered":"The WildEye book"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>OK, thought I might give you a Friday update on how work is going on my Italian fumetti book, provisionally entitled &#8220;<em>FANTASTIKAL DIABOLIKAL SUPERMEN, the strange adventures of Italian comic book heroes on film<\/em>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>I was originally talking about it being a book with two different subjects, but it looks like I&#8217;ve enough content just to concentrate on the Supermen topic, which is good.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve now reviewed 22 films, and have another 10 or so to go.\u00a0 Films covered range from the main 60s fumetti adaptations (<strong>Diabolik<\/strong>, <strong>Kriminal<\/strong> etc etc) to slightly peripheral genre entries (<strong>Hypnos<\/strong>, <strong>Sigpress contro Scotland Yard<\/strong>) and the late seventies films spawned by the Christopher Reeve <strong>Superman <\/strong>film (ie <strong>Pumaman<\/strong>), of which there are thankfully few (because they&#8217;re all rubbish!))<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m hoping to finish all the content by Christmas, and then have a good couple of months to work on design and proofing.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve a lot of artwork, which I&#8217;m scanning in and trying to digitise at the moment (posters are a nightmare, unless you happen to have access to a decent photographic set up (or industrial sized scanner)).<\/p>\n<p>After that, it&#8217;s just a case of sending it off to a printer!
