Her first brush with cinema was appearing in a handful of Danish films, which were all moderately succesful domestically, if making little impact beyond Scandinavia.<\/p>\n<p>In 1960, she landed a record contract in Germany, where she also became a popular TV host as well as starring in numerous films.
