{"id":630,"date":"2008-01-18T09:21:05","date_gmt":"2008-01-18T09:21:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thewildeye.co.uk\/2008\/01\/18\/dario-argentos-new-film\/"},"modified":"2008-01-18T09:21:05","modified_gmt":"2008-01-18T09:21:05","slug":"dario-argentos-new-film-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.thewildeye.co.uk\/blog\/latest-news\/dario-argentos-new-film-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Dario Argento&#8221;s new film"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dario Argento has announced his new film&#8230;  as announced on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/hr\/content_display\/film\/news\/e3iefd89889d715d6d1c9b0f9cc01f5a979\" onclick=\"javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com']);\" target=\"_blank\">Hollywood Reporter<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>      ROME &#8212; Italian horror director Dario Argento will begin filming an English-language slasher film next month in Turin, the local film commission said Wednesday, marking the famed director&#8221;s first English-language effort.<\/p>\n<p>The film will be called &#8220;Giallo&#8221; &#8212; Italian for &#8220;yellow,&#8221; local slang for the thriller genre &#8212; and will star Argento&#8221;s daughter Asia, along with Ray Liotta and Vincent Gallo. The screenplay is from Sean Keller and Jim Agnew, who already are collaborating on the in-production horror film &#8220;Damned.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The film will tell the story of a serial murderer (played by Gallo) with a taste for attractive women, who is being chased by a solitary detective (Liotta).<\/p>\n<p>The film will be shot on familiar territory: Turin also was the site of most of the shooting for &#8220;The Mother of Tears,&#8221; Argento&#8221;s most recent film. Both films are backed by financial incentives from the Turin-Piedmont Film Commission.<\/p>\n<p>The 67-year-old Argento is best known for such cult classics as 1977&#8221;s &#8220;Suspiria&#8221; and &#8220;Inferno&#8221; from 1980.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Hate to sound sceptical, but&#8230; does anyone <i>really <\/i>care that much about Dario Argento&#8221;s new films anymore?
