Patrick McGoohan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another sad bit of news, Patrick McGoohan has died.  To be honest, McGoohan&#8217;s impact on the world of European Cinema was less than TV (with <strong>The Prisoner<\/strong>, of course,<strong> <\/strong>and <strong>Danger Man<\/strong>) on in the States.  However, he was in a few films of interest.  Among his early work in Britain were the likes of Cy Endfield&#8217;s <strong>Hell Drivers <\/strong>(57) and Anthony Asquith&#8217;s <strong>Two Living One Dead <\/strong>(61).  Then, after a spell in the US, he returned to Europe and appeared in Damiano Damian&#8217;s late Spaghetti Western, <strong>Un genio, due compari, un pollo <\/strong>(75).<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, here&#8217;s a link to his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/culture\/2009\/jan\/14\/television2\" onclick=\"javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk']);\" target=\"_blank\">obituary in The Guardian<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Another sad bit of news, Patrick McGoohan has died.
