{"id":86,"date":"2008-02-20T15:31:52","date_gmt":"2008-02-20T15:31:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mattblake.wordpress.com\/?p=82"},"modified":"2008-02-20T15:31:52","modified_gmt":"2008-02-20T15:31:52","slug":"parlami-damore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.thewildeye.co.uk\/blog\/latest-news\/parlami-damore\/","title":{"rendered":"Parlami d&#8217;amore"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cinecitta.com\/news\/documenti\/immagini\/2008\/01\/parlamidamore_3th.jpg\" alt=\"Parlami d'amore poster\" align=\"right\" border=\"1\" height=\"265\" width=\"200\" \/>Just the one new Italian release this week, Silvio Muccino&#8217;s <b>Parlami d&#8217;amore<\/b>, which has hopped in at the top of the box office (<a href=\"http:\/\/thewildeye.co.uk\/2008\/02\/12\/caos-calmo-non-ce-piu-niente-da-fare\/\" onclick=\"javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http:\/\/thewildeye.co.uk']);\"><b>Caos Calmo<\/b><\/a> is a close runner up), taking ten times as much  in Italy as the high profile US release <b>There Will Be Blood<\/b>.  Again, though, it has to be said that this demonstrates the tendency that, while Italian filmmakers are coming up with stuff that is <i>extremely <\/i>popular in the domestic market, they really seem to have lost the knack of making films that can do just as well in export.<\/p>\n<p>The story here revolves around Sasha (played by director Silvio Muccino), a young lad who is in love with the unresponsive Benedetta (Carolina Crescentini) and takes refuge in his friendship with Nicole (Aitana S\u00e1nchez-Gij\u00f3n), an older French woman who lives in Rome with her husband.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ve got to applaud Muccino for making such a succesful film at the tender age of 26 (you may remember him from <b>CQ <\/b>and <b>The Card Player<\/b>).
