Although an obscure figure to the rest of the world, actress Nicoletta Rizzi was well known within Italy, primarily because of her winning performance as a beautiful and mysterious alien in the 1972 TV series A come Andromeda (the same role which had been previously played by Julie Christie in the original UK version, made for TV in 1961).   She was something of a TV star throughout the 70s, also appearing in the likes of Breve gloria di mister Miffin (67), Giallo di sera (71) and I nicotera (72).  Her film appearences were less frequent, although she worked with Salvatore Semperi on Grazie, zia (68) and Cuore di mamma (69), as well as Zurlini’s La prima notte di quiete (72).  Poliziotteschi fans may also remember her appearing as Antonio Sabato’s wife in The Last Desperate Hours (Milano: il clan dei Calabresi, 74)

As well as on screen, she also played an important part in the formation of the SAI (Società Attori Italiani), which became the Sindacato Attori (Actors Union) at the end of the 70s, and at the time of her death she was still serving as the Secretary General of the Sindacato Attori Italiani di Milano.
