Films that were never made #1: Una forca per Django

I find films that never made it to the cinemas almost as intriguing as films that did, so here’s an on and off series of posts about these forgotten, abandoned and often misconceived productions.

Una forca per Django.  Well, judging by the title this is a Western.  There was a script produced (no information about the writer), and there are tentative dates of 1970 and 1972.  The director was supposed to be Giuseppe Pellegrini (who also helmed the Peter Lee Lawrence / Erika Blanc thriller Giorni d’amore sul filo di lama (73).

Pellegrini was an assistant director and writer for a number of films from the late sixties to the early eighties.  He often worked in the Renato Polselli / Vincenzo Cashino circle, and ended up writing porn films for Claudio Bernabei (Le porno investigatrici (81), Stretta e bagnata (82))… which begs the obvious question of exactly how much work is involved in writing a porn film.
