L’uomo che ama

New out in Italian theatres is this drama directed by Maria Sole Tognazzi (daughter of Franca Bettoia and Ugo Tognazzi and Ricky Tognazzi’s half-sister!) It’s a story about a love triangle between a forty year old pharmacist (Pierfrancesco Favino, so excellent in Romanzo criminale), a woman who works for an art gallery (Monica Bellucci) and a hotel manager (Ksenia Rappoport).

To be honest, L’uomo che ama doesn’t really sound much like my cup of tea… these intense romantic dramas about assorted angsty types leave me almost totally cold. Still, nice cast, and it’s had a high-profile release at the Rome film festival.
