R.I.P. Suso Cecchi d’Amico

Another of the great Italian scriptwriters, Suso Cecchi d’Amico, died over the weekend.  She emerged in the postwar period, quickly establishing herself as the writer of neo-realist classics Roma città libera (46) and Bicycle Thieves .  She was oscar nominated for Casanova 70 (65) and picked up other awards for the likes of Big Deal on Madonna Street (58),  La sfida (58), Rocco and his Brothers (60) and The Inquiry (86).
