Un gioco da ragazze

Un gioco da ragazzeNew out in Italy this week, Un gioco da ragazze is another of the ‘nightmare teenage girls’ films that seem to be popular in Italy at the moment. Here’s a synopsis from Cineuropa:

Elena, Michaela, Alice and Livia: they are seventeen, pretty, rich and have no problems. Like many girls from provincial well-off, middle class families, they spend their days preening their physical appearance, going on luxury shopping binges, indulging in passionless flings and dancing the night away at parties. In the morning they go to school, but for them everything is just a boring old game: parents, teachers, boyfriends. Elena, a natural and charismatic leader, guides the group with a mixture of naivety and cynicism. A new teacher, Mario Landi, enters their lives and could prove to be the most coveted prey, or alternatively their saviour from emptiness. As always, Elena will be the one to decide for the group.

Sounds quite interesting. Debutant director Matteo Rovere has graduated from shorts and documentaries and the cast is composed largely of unknowns
