aka Moune Duvivier
Carla Brait is one of the better known black actresses to have worked in Italian Cinema, having worked in anumber of cult favourites. She started off in small roles in Spaghetti Westerns, often uncredited, before landing more prominent parts in the giallos Torso and The Case of the Bloody Iris, in both of which she made for a most fetching victim. Later in the 70s, she gravitated towards comedies, making an impression as a saucy maid in the acclaimed Adriano Celentano comedy Yuppi du and, err, a maid in the rather less celebrated Mario Bianchi sex comedy The Black Maid. After a short gap from the screen, she began popping up in the post-apocalypse wave of films, and has recently appeared in a couple of tv parts.
Despite this, however, information about her is very hard to find. I was unable to dig up any kind of biography, but I assume she was Italian. Unless… she is allegedly the same person as Moune Duvivier, who appeared in the Bruno Mattei film Rats Night of Terror (this is according to Italian databases). ‘Moune Duvivier’ also had tiny parts in an number of UK TV shows: Pulaski (87), Strike It Rich (90), Wings of Fame (90). So could she possibly have been a Brit, possibly acting under assumed names? If anyone has any more information, please let us know!

I believe Carla Brait was also the singer in the nightclub scene of Machine Gun McCain. Was she also in Your Vice Is A Locked Room and Only I Have The Key”? I think I’ve seen her pop up in some other films as well.
I was up one night late and they were playing the movie Torso all month I wa bord and decided to watch it as I love Itians. Too bad the grain is so bad I could barly enjoy the film. But I saw Carla and thought how beautiful and cute she was. I looked her up and found very little photographs on her. I tis a shame she wasn’t presented for her beauty the was she should have been. I’d like to see more art with her myself.
There now is an Italian Wikipedia page on Carla Brait. Says she was born September 1, 1950 but not place of birth is listed.
