A whimsical, fully illustrated guide, in which sword & sandals (from The Giant of Metropolis to Goliath and the Vampires), horror (from Atom Age Vampire to The Embalmer), spy-movies (from Un tango dalla Russia to Lucky the Inscrutable), the “fumetti neri” (Diabolik, Kriminal, Satanik, Sadik), the “giallos” (from Blood and Black Lace to Col cuore in gola), the superheroes (from Superargo to Argoman),western (from Yankee to Starblack), Fellini (The Temptation of dr. Antonio, Satyricon), sexy adventures (from Isabella-Miss Stiletto to Zenabel), cartoons (from Vip mio fratello superuomo to West and Soda), science fiction (from The Tenth Victim to Barbarella), TV spots (from Lo sceriffo della Valle d’Argento to Gringo), esoteric fantasy (from Balsamus to The Devil Witch), co-exist in an original, incredible pop gallery, full of notes. Last but not least, the sadistic-erotic “cineromanzo” featuring Isabella Duchess of the Devils, the victim of the dreadful Baron von Nütter and a cult comic strip sequence devoted to the “nerosexy” heroes and heroines.

Bibliography and Discography.

A must-have book for the collectors as well as the true fans of cinema bis and comics, the ones who don’t give a damn about the latest, ephemeral trends!

A bit beyond my budget at the moment, but if anyone picks it up please let us know what it’s like. Judging from the other Glittering Images books, it’ll look a million dollars…

  1. Do you know if this book has been published yet? I saw an ad for it in the comics listings magazine previews, but wasn’t sure when it was actually coming out.
