Apparently remakes of both Il gioccattolo and Cosa avete fatto a Solange are tentatively in the pipeline at the moment… I don”t know whether to laugh or cry!
Alex Infasacelli, who”s just starting his latetst film, L”ombra di satana for Sky Cinema, has revealed that one of his wishes is to remake Il giaccottolo, Giuliano Montaldo”s 1979 comedy in which a timid bookkeeper is revealed to be a talented marksman and determines to bring justice to his neighbourhood. ” I want to make it because it speaks about as I feel, as an Italian, in 2008 in Rome” Said Infascelli.
Meanwhile, Marco Martani, who previously directed Cemento armato, is also planning a remake of Cosa avete fatto a Solange (aka What Have they Done to Solange), working from a script by Fausto Brizzi (who”s best known for his work on Christian De Sica comedies). Hmmm.
