Dieter Eppler

German actor Dieter Eppler died on April 12th, at the age of 81, after suffering from a long illness. A former child actor, he was primarily known for his work on stage, and was long affiliated with the German National Theatre in Stuttgart. He also appeared in numerous films, generally in supporting roles, and also worked as a director and star of radio plays.

Internationally, he’s probably best known for his participation in numerous cult movies. As well as being a Krimi regular, he also appeared in Victor Trivas’s Head, Roberto Mauri’s Slaughter of the Vampires (as a vampire), Jess Franco’s Lucky the Inscrutable and even Jerzy Skolimowski’s Deep End.
