R.I.P. Franco Lattanzi

Apparently director Franco Lattanzi has died. I can’t find any obituary information about him, which is hardly surprising… any information whatsoever about the guy is sketchy at best.

Suffice to say, he made four films, and is best known for his three spaghetti westerns: Tiger from the River Kwai, Il Giustiziere di Dio and Sei bounty killers per una strage. Judging by these, he wasn’t the best of directors – they’re all pretty dreadful, to be honest – but here at The Wild Eye we have an unhealthy obsession with his kind of bottom-feeding filmmaker, so it’s sad to hear that he’s gone the way of Joe D’Amato, Demofilo Fidani and so many others.

  1. Like Jacques Berthier, I have found no obituary. Thankfully some people in the business hear about their passings and post them on boards and we are able to learn of their deaths otherwise they would be lost to history. Sad that they were once in the public eye and then became forgotten.
